Character counter needed on Essays in New Quizzes to match the format of Texas STAAR Test

Cambium is the new testing provider in Texas. When our students practiced with this new platform, we can see on the composition of the persuasive essay they are given a box that will only show 4 lines at a time. I can mimic this behavior in Canvas. The other option they have is a character count limit of 1750 that counts down.

Canvas has a word counter, but not a character counter. I am looking for a way to allow students additional practice with this format from within Canvas. Any option you know of?

@kthompson2, Hello! The Canvas RCE has this information available via the toolbar currently. (Shown in the screenshots below.) New Quizzes is in the process of implementing the Canvas RCE into the New Quizzes UI which means this functionality will come along with it!
