Cidi Labs in Canvas Mobile App

(1)

It would be great to make it possible to reach the Canvas API from the mobile app so that features in the Cidi Labs Design Tools function, like progress bars, will function.

 @bschmidt3 ...

We have been testing out the CIDI Labs tools for several months, and from what I can tell, Design Tools allow content to be built so it is mobile friendly.  There is even an "App" button at the top of Design Tools so you can see what the content would look like on a mobile device.  There is also this information page I found on their website: Design Tools for Canvas on mobile devices : Cidi Labs Support Center.  I'd be interested to know what kinds of content students aren't able to view on mobile devices with content designed using Design Tools.

Maybe  @kenneth_larsen ‌ might be able to chime in, too?

As an idea for Canvas, this should actually be about making it possible to reach the Canvas API from the mobile app.

The Design Tools items that are not compatible with the mobile app are those that reference the Canvas API to display content. This is pretty much limited to progress bars and what we call Quick Links which is a feature that displays the information about a specific module (like a student would see on the module page) embedded on another page in their course. But these features have been built to degrade to the default functionality available in the mobile app. The Quick Links become links to the modules in Canvas that will list all of the information.

Thanks,  @kenneth_larsen ‌ and  @Chris_Hofer , for helping to shape this feature idea.  @bschmidt3 ‌, would you like to modify the idea to incorporate Kenneth's suggestion ("making it possible to reach the Canvas API from the mobile app")? We'll keep the idea in Moderating status for the moment.
