[SIS] Control Module Option to Publish Grades Upon Completion

We use the SIS Grade Push utility in Canvas to allow instructors to push final course grades to our SIS.  This tool has very few controls.  We cannot limit its availability by course role, nor does it produce any type of notification or reporting that it has been pushed (we had to manually code for that internally).

This post is about the checkbox option visible when creating a new module. It is labeled, "Publish final grade for the student when this module is completed."  Checking the box means when a student completes the module, the final grade for the course will push to the SIS.

• The wording of this very powerful checkbox is misleading, as some instructors think it is required to update the course gradebook when assignments within the module are completed.  Once final course grades are pushed to the SIS, they often appear as "F" since the course is not really completed.
• Please give Canvas admins the ability to remove this checkbox from modules.
  
  
• If it has to remain, please reword it to say "Publish final COURSE grade for the student when this module is completed."  Also, please add a second warning message with more description such as "Are you sure?  Checking this box means the final course grade will be automatically sent to your Student Information System once the student has completed this module. Contact your Canvas system administrator for more information."
