Course communication outside of Term and Participation
At our institution, we ran into an issue with keeping communication channels open between students and lecturers after our term and participation windows ended. We are legally obliged to have our lecturers grant our students access to their examination papers which often happens to be after the previous term has ended. We have now opted to extend the window that our courses are open (since we often had to reopen them manually so lecturers could use them to contact their students), however, this now means that our students' (and lecturers') dashboards have become very crowded indeed since course stay "active" longer. Our issue could be solved either by having an option to not have a course appear as active or by introducing an option to have communication open after the course's "active" window has ended.
