Do not force question groups to override question point values

Presently, if you use question groups to randomizes quiz question order, all the questions have to be the same point value. It would be really nice if there was an option to use the point value in the question bank. This would allow for more randomization in question order.

"Question groups" are specific to Old (Classic) Quizzes; they don't exist in New Quizzes. Because our product teams are no longer developing new functionality on the code base for Old Quizzes, which is scheduled to be deprecated early next year, we've archived this idea.

The New Quiz tool employs a quiz setting to randomize questions, and point values can be assigned to individual questions and to the quiz as a whole. The resources in the New Quizzes User Group should give you the information you'll need to start trying out the new tool; you might need to contact your local Canvas admin for assistance if you don't see the ability to enable New Quizzes in your courses.
