Duplicate, Clone, or Copy anything in Canvas

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas
An option to "make a copy" should be present on nearly every gear in Canvas -- modules, quizzes, assignments, announcements, pages, discussions, rubrics...

Consistency is an important element of good course design, and this would help instructors and designers achieve it more easily.

I love this idea. I have hacked in ways to do this but if this became part of the core code it would be more seemless.

This would be a useful feature for quiz question templates as well https://community.canvaslms.com/ideas/1228#comment-7181

Our organization is new to Canvas. Being able to duplicate, copy, clone (whatever you want to call it) assignments, quizzes, questions, etc... was one of the first features identified as "I can't believe they don't have this."

In our previous LMS we could set up a quiz or assignment to use as a template. It is a real time saver, and quality control assistance, to be able to get the settings the way you like them, and then not have to change settings on subsequent creations.

This is definitely something lacking in Canvas that could help instructors.  Some of our science courses have weekly assignments that are all the same instructions, points, etc.  Now the instructor has to create 16 separate assignments.  If they could copy and just change the due dates it would be a big timesaver.

I would like to see the ability to import and export rubrics that were at the account level.  We use these at the account level to keep track of our accreditation for our program but every year we need to create 60 new rubrics from scratch.  It would be so much simpler if we could just copy them. You can copy them at the course level.  It seems like and easy fix to be able to also copy them at the account level.

This will be so AWESOME! I was just inquiring about this recently. By the way do any of you incorporate Standards/Student Learning Outcomes into your courses? I teach math and I truly want to use outcomes for mastery. alawson-Johnson@Alamo.edu

Love this "copy me" idea, as long at it is my stuff I am copying because I know where I got it.  No copyright issues for me!  I would also want to set the option of who, if anyone, could copy my stuff.  Myself though, yes, having a copy me feature would be fantastic.  I am in math, and I don't want to have to redo everything but rather a quick copy me, including any relevant graphics but with the option to exclude in case new graphics are needed, tweak a number or three, and submit.  Done!

That would make it simpler for both instructors and designers!
