Enable closed captions transcripts to be available for students to download

As some students have hearing impairments and require recorded lectures to have 'closed captions' enabled. It would also be very useful for those students to be able to download the entire transcript of the recording.

Thanks for sharing this idea. Is this request specific to videos made in Canvas Studio?

It would be very helpful to give students to capability to download both a VTT caption file and a TXT transcript (without timecodes). Presently, we have to manually upload a text file of the video transcript and then separately hyperlink it for every location a video appears in a course. Universal Design mandates that a text transcript be available for each video. This should be easy enough to offer automatically from the VTT file.
