Exempt Assignments Removed from To-Do List

When a teacher exempts a student from an assignment in the gradebook, it should be removed from that student's to-do list and crossed out on the calendar. By definition, "excused" means that the student does not have to complete the assignment.

Problem statement:

Currently when an assignment is excused or given a grade when the student didn't submit anything the calendar still lists the assignment as "To Do".

Proposed solution:

It would be great if a teacher gives a grade or marks it as excused it would also cross off the assignment to-do list in Calendar and on the right side bar.
