This feature would be extremely helpful in multiple instances but particularly for high schools that use Canvas. We could then filter by date for one quarter or another rather than filtering through an entire semester.
This can already be done in Canvas if your school's Canvas Admin has enabled Grading Periods...........
"If your course includes Multiple Grading Periods, grading periods created at the account level automatically display in your course and can be filtered in the Assignments Index Page, the Gradebook, and the student Grades page."

Thanks for the reply. We do know that but we do not have it set up that
way for other reasons thus making the filter by date more helpful.

firstname.lastname@example.org, gradebook columns can already be filtered by date (newest to oldest, oldest to newest) as detailed in the Arrange by Due Date section of How do I arrange columns in the Gradebook? What additional functionality are you requesting?
Thank you for the comment. Yes--they can be arranged by date but not
filtered. A filter would remove a date range from view.
