Give Feedback to Students that Preserves their Anonymity
My institution has implemented anonymous marking through Canvas. That all works fine for the final submissions, they are marked anonymously and the anonymity ends when marks are released to students (post grades).
However, students would like to receive feedback on ideas, drafts etc. If this is done on Canvas as an ungraded assignment, once the feedback is released to students their anonymity ends. Potentially this means the anonymity of their final submissions is compromised.
When giving formative feedback on draft work I have no need to know the identity of the student. It does not seem that this can currently be done on Canvas. Such a facility would be helpful in any institution where marking is anonymous until grades are released to students.
