Gradebook View > Arrange By Suggestion (today to beginning of semester, tomorrow to end of semester)
It would be cool if the Gradebook could be ordered first by "Newest to Oldest" for assignments due on or before today, then "Oldest to Newest" for future assignments. In other words, if the assignments are ordered alphabetically and this week, assignment "E" is due, the gradebook would be ordered:
E,D,C,B,A,F,G,H,I,...
Then, next week when "F" is due, the gradebook would change to:
F,E,D,C,B,A,G,H,I...
This view would have the current assignment always on the left side of the gradebook followed by the previous assignments in reverse chronological order, then followed by the future assignments in forward chronological order.
