Grading Period Filter on Student "Grades" page

  This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas

Currently, when a student goes to view their grades, the default page which shows all of their courses does NOT filter the grades based on a grading period. It shows a percentage which is different than when the student views the current grading period for an individual class. This is confusing for the students and for their parents.

I would suggest adding a grading period drop-down to the student "Grades" page, so that the grades for all courses for a particular grading period can be seen at a glance.

Grading Period View

When Grading Periods are enabled for a course, the global Grades page allows students to view the total grade for a course according to a specific grading period. The menu display defaults to the current grading period.

*There is a known bug that produces an error when the grading period is selected.  This bug is scheduled for a warm fix.
