Group Assignment Comments - Fix Edit Workflow

We at UBC have observed challenges using the edit workflow for group assignment grading comments. When going to the gradebook and using the arrow beside the grade to view the grade and comments, we can edit. However, when we do this, it only edits the comment for that member of the group with no warning that this is the case. We were expecting it to update the comment for all members of the group. This should be addressed in several ways:
1. Update the documentation with a warning about this
2. The edit function should ideally be updated to allow for updating the comment for all group members
3. If the above is not possible, then remove the edit function for group assignments. Deleting the comment and adding a new one applies to all group members, so provides an alternative workflow, and this could be documented clearly
4. This should all be done without hampering the current working function for individual assignments

At the Business school I work at, this was our instructors experience.  They were editing a group assignment comment in the gradebook sidebar and it ended up that only 1 group member received the updated feedback. 

Our ideal situation is that the updated feedback given for a group assignment in any area would be updated to reflect for all group members.

If that is not possible, very clear documentation on the assignment page and group page that states the expected outcome of using the gradebook sidebar with group assignments.

Comments from Instructure

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
