Hanging Indent

The RCE does not allow hanging indents without messing around with the HTML. Hanging indents are required in some common citation methods, so lacking them creates problems.

The Canvas HTML editor has buttons for left, middle, and right alignment. There is no hanging indent alignment button. Our faculty are asked to use a hanging indent to format their resources in APA 7th edition as example to our students. In order to create a hanging indent for reference citations they must switch to code view which is foreign to about 99% of our faculty. They tend to contact me (Instructional Designer) or our LMS Coordinator to do it for them, or they do not do it at all. Please create a hanging indent button to make this easier for faculty. I saw that chewes submitted this request on 2/3/21 but there has been no movement of comment other than Stef_retired changing the status to open on the same date. This would be a huge help to our three campus admins.

A hanging indent feature should be added below the format bar. Graduate students are frequently required to create references in discussions using hanging indents. Most of us are not coding experts and using  coding is time consuming. Please consider adding this feature. Thank you!
