Import Course Content should always be non-destructive

(19)

When importing content from previous courses, sometimes instructors choose "all content" expecting that this will add their old content to the new site. Instead, it overwrites the existing site's content with the materials from the old site in some circumstances. Importing course content should always be a non-destructive process.

Adding my AGREE!! We just had an instructor overwrite a quiz students had already taken, thinking she would get a second copy of the quiz, causing a ton of stress for her, my team, and her students. A simple dialog box letting her know she would be overwriting her test, not getting a new version of her test (or better yet, let her choose to overwrite or make a new version) would have solved this entire problem.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
