Importing Grades for Quizzes - Better Options for Grading Quizzes

I propose a feature that would make Canvas a more powerful tool for instructors:

• Importing grades for quiz questions

Currently it is possible to export submission information for a quiz using "Quiz Statistics -> Student Analysis", but there is no option to import grades from a user file.

This option was key in another LMS (based in Moodle) that allowed for easy grading of exams for fully-remote classes the past two years.

While currently you can upload directly to the gradebook a grade for any assignment, this results in a loss of visibility for students of where they lost points.

Without this feature, automated grading or local grading of assignments becomes extremely difficult. For the case of grading essay questions with programming language code, this feature is a huge time-saver and allows one to focus their time on more meaningful work.

This would be a HUGE time saver, so I would also like to see progress on this. Currently grading by question is clunky and slow (especially compared to other LMSs). This would speed things along nicely. Can we get an update?

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
