Importing courses: don't carry over Zoom meetings OR delete all at once
We're noticing Zoom meetings are importing onto the Calendar and Syllabus when importing courses that have Zoom calendar events.
Ideas:
- Zoom meetings should not be able to be imported OR
- Be able to delete all occurrences of a recurring Zoom meetings in the Calendar all at once
Currently, it's a confusing experience because:
- Syllabus page will show Zoom meetings that are not on the Zoom page, and the meetings are not for that course. (screenshot 1)
- On the Calendar, the behavior is more concerning when a current course is imported because those Zoom dates will be seen in the same month.
- Recurring Zoom meetings can only be individually deleted in the Calendar. (screenshot 2)
Notes:
- We've been getting around this by mentioning to faculty members to not import All content and when Selecting specific content to not import calendar events.
-
Zoom meetings cannot be associated with more than one course (screenshot 3)— so it seems like they shouldn't be carried over when a course is imported.
-
Appointment groups show in Calendar and Syllabus (screenshot 4) and do not get imported when importing calendar events (screenshot 5)
-
Appointment Groups on a Calendar can be deleted all at once if created at same time via Group Details > Delete Group
-
Recurring Zoom meetings on Canvas Zoom page can be deleted all at once via Delete > Delete all of the occurrences
