K-12 Communication - Teachers having access to other courses in their school.

I had an idea that I think could help K-12 districts.

Could there be another admin role called teacher and a setting to allow all those with the teacher course role to also assume the permissions of the teacher admin role.

  • Either an account permission or a sub account permission
  • This could be off by default to protect privacy concerns at the post-secondary level
  • Would allow districts/school sites the option of giving teachers the ability to
    • view all the grades of a student
    • communicate with other teachers in the school

This would support Student success teams and promote intervention for students by allowing teachers to be able to see how students are doing across the board.  This would help coaches, AVID teachers, etc. who need to view student progress for students in all their classes.  It is much more secure than giving teachers one of the other admin roles and is much simpler than adding all teachers as a special admin role through a CSV, this would be able to match the SIS sync.
