Linking course documents/images in the RCE should open root directories, NOT a list of all files

The "Course Documents/Images/Media" buttons–attach image, attach media, & attach document buttons from the rich content editor (RCE)attach image, attach media, & attach document buttons from the rich content editor (RCE) in the rich content editor (RCE) currently open a list of all document/image/media files, respectively.  The list (ordered by upload date, I believe) is not an effective way to search through course files. Instead, the buttons should open the root file directory so instructors can find the attachments they want without additional steps. Thanks.

@tommy_flynn

Thanks for sharing this idea. You'll be happy to know that in the new Rich Content Editor (RCE), the user can switch from a flat list of all files to a display of the folder hierarchy by switching the view to All from Documents in the dropdown that displays after making the File|Course Document selection from RCE toolbar.  As this is existing functionality in the RCE, we've archived the idea.

@tommy_flynn we've also made another improvement to the sidebar to allow searching. See if this helps as well: Canvas Deploy Notes (2020-11-18) - Canvas Community
