Media Recordings for Assignment Enhancements

When Assignment Enhancements is turned off and you click on Media recordings, the first thing you see is Record Media. Upload is on the second tab.

When Assignment Enhancements is turned on, the first tab in the new window is Upload Media. Would it be possible to reverse this so it launches to Record like previously? This feature is important for young users who use videos to record their responses to questions. Navigating to additional tabs makes this more difficult.

Thanks for sharing this feedback about Assignment Enhancements, @jconrad , and a special thank you for posting it to the user group as well. Can you confirm that the instructor has restricted submission types on the assignment to media recordings? I ask because according to our documentation (  How do I submit an online assignment in a course u...  ), when no restrictions have been placed on submission types, the Media recording button precedes the Upload button in the list of available options.

Please provide a screenshot of the instructor view of the settings on the assignment so we can continue to investigate.

@Stef_retired The instructor has restricted submission types to Text Entry, Media Recording, and File Upload. When clicking on Media Recording, when the Assignment Enhancements is turned on, it launches to the Upload option. When the Assignment Enhancements is not turned on, it launches to Record. We would like it to launch to Record and not Upload.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
