[Mobile - Canvas Student] Support Studio Screen Recorder on iPads

We need to be able to use Studio Screen Recorder on iPads.  We would like Canvas to either fix the Screen Recorder so it functions on iPads or create an app.  At this time, there is nothing under the Studio compatibility standards that says iPads are not supported...just the opposite.  Both Safari and IOS versions are listed as supported, but Canvas Support responded they do not support Studio on iPads 😞

The Studio Screen Recording feature doesn't work for Teachers either to record their screen on the iPad.  This would be so helpful to record while drawing or annotating on iPads...and more!

This is an important feature both students and instructors need, especially with ipads as common tools for using Canvas in the classroom and outside the classroom!

I know that you can use other screen recorders and then upload the videos from there, but the native screen recorder on an iPad doesn't allow you to pause the recording and it is a few extra steps to upload the video to Studio. The functionality to be able to do the screen recording directly in Studio, either via a new Studio app or make it functional either in a browser or in the Canvas Teacher and Student apps, would be awesome!

This is HUGE for us in our district!   All our K-8 are on iPads.  Only HS students are on laptops...

AND for Teachers of students on iPads as well -- all our K-8 teachers would need this.

This needs to be investigated! The core technology for screen recording used by Studio is available within the iOS environment. We just need to harness it.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
