[Assignments] Moderated Assignments: option to release comments made by other graders to students

Currently, when a moderator selects the final grade, only feedback made by the grader who gave that mark is made available to students.  This creates problems in some circumstances (e.g. this post in the question forum).  In our own context, an example came up where students' papers were graded by a first marker who gave detailed feedback.  The moderator then entered custom grades, and added an additional short confirmatory comment.  The grades have been released and posted, and students are only able to view comments made by the moderator.

To improve this, we would like the moderator to have an option to choose whether to release comments made by each grader - in some circumstances it would not be appropriate to release comments from different graders, so this needs to be optional rather than a default.

Currently, the students can only see feedback comments and grades from one of the two graders, where this is selected from the moderator.
It would be a great addition if students could be able to see the comments from both graders in Canvas, no matter which grade is chosen as final. In this way the students will double the amount of feedback they get (as they will see comments from both graders and not from just one), greatly improving their experience. Increasing the amount of feedback will also have a positive effect for students to do better on successive assignments. 

Similarly, it would be great if the students could see the grades given from both graders and crucially both rubrics if they are used. Being able to see how each grader have graded in the rubrics will also give the students a better understanding of what they can do better, compared to seeing only one rubric.

Completely agreed. It would be good to have the option to allow students to see all markers comments and marks when using the multi maker/moderator function.

Yes please, we are no longer able to use the moderation feature due to the difficulty with the releasing of feedback.  I would love for us to be able to use this tool and allow for students to access all feedback.

We use moderated assessments for honours and masters research projects. The students submit work that is assessed by both their supervisor and an independent reviewer (adding more if the marks do not agree). We calculate their final marks based on an average (or weighted average) of the assessments — neither is more "correct" than the other, and comments/feedback from ALL assessors should be able to be made available to the students.

This use case is not covered at all by Canvas, where you currently must choose a single assessment for the grade to select and the feedback to present.

Agree, this would be very useful.  One final mark is fine but students should get to see all feedback and annotations from all markers.

Problem statement:

When Moderated Grading is enabled, it appears that the initial graders' comments are not visible to the student when the grade/mark is released. Instead only the final grader (Moderator)'s comments are visible. This is a waste of good feedback.

Proposed solution:

When Moderated Grading is enabled, upon release of grade/mark, the student should be able to see the feedback from ALL graders, including the Moderator. At the very least, this should be an option while setting up an assignment with Moderated Grading.
