Module View Progress Changes to Better Show Cases

Currently, when Teachers view module progress, there is some behavior I would like to see changed.

  • If there is no Module Progress criteria for the module, rather than show "Completed", show Not Applicable, Unavailable, or something that indicates that it can't be accurate because there is no progress to show.
  • If the student has never accessed the course, make it clear that there is no progress. As it is, students who have never entered the course see "Completed", which is simply not correct.

While this would be "heavy" code-wise, an ideal would be that if there is no module flow, show the number of items a student accessed in a given module. (This opens a whole different can of worms by asking the question "What is accessed?", but it is an alternative to saying Not Applicable.)

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
