When a teacher assigns multiple attempts for an assignment it would be nice if the system would automatically perform one of the following during the student's next attempt:

1. Populate the correct answers from the previous attempt. 

2. Show only the incorrect problems from the previous attempt.

I think the idea of having a retake the quiz is great however having students to retake "all" the quiz rather that the question the missed. it just takes time from instruction and students' focus away from missed questions

I believe this can be very helpful for both teachers and students.

I suggested this change of carrying correct answers forward 2 years ago

(and I wasn't the first). Nothing has happened. It's discouraging. I

wonder how we can get someone's attention, someone who can affect the

change.

Agreed! I can't figure out how to do anything on the Canvas Community. Right now I can't even log on. But I feel this issue is so critical. It's frustrating because I still have to utilize publisher online programs when I could be writing my own stuff. But I don't want students to have to keep going through the same questions they already got right!

And we need an option to just approve quiz taken by a student.  It should be possible to have the score option ‘approved’/‘not approved’ in a quiz, as in Discussion and Assignments.

Points is not always the best way to give feedback.

Is this suggested another place?

I was really hoping to see this feature added in ##quizzes.next‌ but it doesn't seem to be on their radar. I use Canvas as a training tool for my employees and it frustrates them to have to re-answer the same questions over and over again when they've only gotten one or two wrong.

I completely agree with you. I am still relying on external publisher websites for homework in my math classes because students do not want to have to re-do the problems they already got correct. I tell them to write down their correct answers so they just have to put them in, but it is still a huge pain. I don’t know how to move this issue forward but hopefully enough people speak up to get it on the Canvas radar.

The question remains: Why hasn't CANVAS acted on this? We're going on 3

years or more. My support team here at Monterey Peninsula College lauds

the notion that we can write CANVAS with suggestions to improve the

student/instructor experience. But, what's the point if our suggestions

just disappear into a CANVAS black hole?

This is cumbersome, but with practice and patience, it could work until we get much needed feature built into Quizzes or Quizzes.Next.

If teacher comment on the original quiz with the numbers that are allowed to be retaken. The quiz is edited to offer a 2nd attempt and the student opens the gradebook to see what questions he/she can retake. The teacher then looks at the 2nd attempt in the Speedgrader, adjusting the score of the 1st attempt if any retakes are correct. 

Too tedious and cumbersome? What do you think?

You'd think it would be a fairly simple change for Canvas to make, given the fact that they already know who has answered questions incorrectly. If you look at the Quiz Summary Item Analysis, could it also work to build a 2nd personalized quiz for students based on their incorrect responses?

Too cumbersome. You have to flip back and forth between the attempts. I tried doing this already and it was a pretty big pain.
