New Quizzes: Dashboard To Do

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas

As with the original quizzes on canvas, when a student submits a New Quizzes (Quizzes.Next) assessment and there are items that need to be reviewed it should show up on our teacher dashboard in our To Do list so we know to submissions have been made so we can more easily access them in speedgrader to grade.

@laura_clark  Do you have screenshots for what you're describing here?

I just read and voted by clicking on the 5 stars for Dashboard To Do in several posts: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Idea-Conversations/New-Quizzes-Dashboard-To-Do/idi-p/373847

and https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Idea-Conversations/New-Quizzes-Dashboard-To-Do/idc-p/414529#M3883...

AND found another post where I clicked on the thumbs up, but it doesn't look like there is an immediate fix, especially with the timeline for the December 2020 enforcement date for New Quizzes has been postponed until July 2021. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Question-Forum/Quizzes-Next-Essays-Ungraded-Notification/m-p/1275...

I am highly considering rebuilding my curriculum back to the Classic Quizzes...

Please follow this link to address the other half of this problem:

New Quizzes grading indication in SpeedGrader: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Idea-Conversations/New-Quizzes-Grading-Indication/idc-p/407653#M3...

  • Currently, if a teacher looks at SpeedGrader, all students will have a green checkmark indicating that they don’t need grading, instead of a yellow dot noting that students have items that need grading.

Did this ever get solved? It is beyond annoying

I completely agree. This should be a top priority for fixing especially because the new quiz feature is so great.

There should be some sort of notification process for New Quizzes that require teacher attention.  Other LTI functions, such as Google Assignments, provide notification of work to be graded.  It is such a time-consuming task to verify whether or not students have submitted/resubmitted a New Quizzes item.  It seems like it should be a high priority concern.

Same issue as people here mentioned: I had to go over and over assignments on Speed grader to see if anything had been submitted. I never knew what was submitted and there were no notifications (like in the old version). it was hard to keep track and not miss someone! Please fix this.

This feature is a must when the transfer to New Quizzes is complete!
