[New Quizzes] Please change "Fudge Points"

When faculty make an *adjustment* to an exam grade, for instance adding 5 points to everyone's score, at the bottom of the students report of the exam, a phrase shows up for the faculty member that says "Fudge points" and has 5 points listed next to it. That phrase really irks me because it looks like I am "fudging" the results of the exam.  Students see it as well when they look over their exam.

Fudging is another word for CHEATING, or as defined: "Fudge (Miriam Webster)

  • 1a : to devise as a substitute: "fake"
  • b : falsify: fudged the figures
  • 2 : to fail to come to grips with or dodge: fudged the issue

I am not "faking" or "falsifying" anything, I am making an ADJUSTMENT that I have chosen to make.

Could you please rename "Fudge points" to "Adjustment Points"  = that would take care of the issue!

I really agree with this. The word fudge has never sat well with me and each time I have taught it to an instructor they have never fully understood what they were from the name. Renaming them to adjustment points does seem to get at the meaning much faster and without the level of confusion that I see frequently with these.
