New Student Grades (who transfer from another school with a grade)

My school district includes a military post and as a result, we get a lot of new students throughout the school year. We would benefit greatly from a feature in the Canvas gradebook that allows a student's transfer grade percentage to be entered in one place, then would populate all assignments prior to the student's enrollment date with that percentage. Currently, this all has to be done manually and can be very time-consuming for the teacher.

@vlb1215  Thanks for sharing this idea. We currently have an active idea requesting similar capability via a transfer from the Aeries SIS. Would you specify the location of the transfer grades that would theoretically populate the student's Canvas enrollments so we can move this forward as a separate idea requesting an enhancement to that integration or as a request for a new integration with a specific application?

We don't have a location that grades are transferred from. The guidance counselor emails the new student's teachers and provides the grades they are transferring in with. If a student arrives at our school with an 88% in math, the math teacher has to make sure the gradebook shows 88% for all assignments that are in the gradebook before the student enrolled. The teacher has to manually enter these. We would love to have a quick way to populate the percentage across all prior assignments. A '"transfer grade" feature with an enrollment date, or something of that nature.

Thanks for the reply, @vlb1215 ! Have you read through the newly-revised  Automatically assign transfer credit scores for al... ? It sounds very similar to what you're hoping to see, so please let us know.
