Pages templates

I've had to navigate some pretty awfully designed Canvas course pages. Maybe have some common template options to choose from. Kind of like when you go into a word processor application and when it first opens it gives you the option to create a new document or to select one of the templates. 

So maybe it could still open like it does normally into the text box and editor, but one of the buttons there could have some template options.

Thanks for sharing this idea. Page and course templates are available in many different locations:

Canvas Commons: Commons is a digital library for educators that allows Canvas users to share learning resources with other users as well as import learning resources into a Canvas course.

Ready-Made Templates: Instructure offers a wide variety of page and course templates, many of which can be downloaded at no cost from the Instructional Designers group hub. Please search through there for resources such as this one.

Many schools choose to employ templates to promote a standardized design across all courses, so please reach out to your school's local Canvas admin to find out more about the resources they can provide. It's possible the school uses Blueprint Courses or Course Templates to assist instructors with creating courses.
