Return to Canvas from Publisher's website

When the student clicks on an assignment from the publisher's website, it takes then out of Canvas and to the publisher's website. No problem.  However, when the student finishes and clicks "return to Canvas" it takes them back to the assignments page.  Then if the student needs to continue working in the module they have to either go to the Home Page and click on the module link, or go to the Modules page and scroll down to where they left off and keep working.  Seems like when they return to Canvas from the publisher's website it should take them right back to where they left off in Canvas so they can continue working.

Hi @DebraTrigoboff!

Could you give us a little more information on what you mean by "publisher's website?" Is this an LTI tool from another company that takes you outside of Canvas? If so, this idea would need to be shared with them.

This is an LTI tool.  Both McGraw Hill and Cengage linked into Canvas takes the student "out" to the publisher's website and the "return to canvas" tab on the left then takes the student back to the assignments page, not the modules page.  I would think this is a Canvas setting, not the publisher's setting.

Thanks @DebraTrigoboff

Since these tools are created and maintained by McGraw Hil and Cengage respectively, they would need to be the ones to make those updates.
