Rubric / Submission Sizing, Layout, Design in Speedgrader

0 Likes

It is cumbersome to read student short-answers and see my rubric at the same time.

  1. Resize Without Margins: When using the vertical sizing bar, the quiz view should not maintain the margins! Let the margins on the quiz view disappear.
  2. Always See All Ratings: As the grading instructor, I do not need to see all of the detail in the rubric that I created - allow the rubric boxes to stay small (toggle for detailed description), so that I do not need to scroll left/right to select rubric scores or to see the total
  3. Rubric Per Question: Attach rubric selections to individual questions, so that the rubric is aligned with the comments AND SCORE for each question (I can't see the score box after writing my comments on a question - this was in another idea post)
  4. Question Score Field Location: Move to in-line with comments
  5. Toggle Question Text: Toggle the Question text so that it doesn't have to be seen while grading
  6. "Update Scores" Button Location: Keep the "Update Scores" as either automatic or near the place where you click to the next submission - perhaps a "save and move to next student" button?

@steelea

Thanks for sharing all these ideas! Unfortunately, we won't be able to move this forward for several reasons.

The description includes several suggestions for enhancements to Classic Quizzes. Our product teams are no longer developing new functionality on the code base for Old (Classic) Quizzes, which is scheduled for deprecation, and several of the requests included here are for functionality that is already available in New Quizzes.

In addition, the Idea Conversations forum accommodates singular requests for an enhancement to a specific feature, as described in more detail in How do I create a new idea conversation in the Canvas Community?

Please search through this forum for existing ideas that align with the enhancements you're hoping to see made to rubrics specifically, and if you don't find an existing idea to support, please write each one as its own prompt.

The resources in the New Quizzes User Group should help you get started with using the new quiz tool in your courses. If you don't see the ability to enable the new quiz tool in the settings area of your course, please reach out to your local Canvas admin for guidance on its availability at your school.

Thanks again!
