We had a request to have the calendar items on the Canvas course calendar to be sorted Alphabetically as an alternative way to sort and view items (quizzes, assignments, et).
Items that are scheduled for the same time currently appear to be sorted into two alphabetical lists: submission due dates and to-do reminder dates. I have had to manipulate both activity names and due times to get assignments to appear in the order which is required by settings on the modules tab. Matching the order of the modules page should over-ride any alphabetical sorting when, "students must complete these items in order" is selected for the module.
