Student feedback preferred method selection

It would help to allow each student to select their preferred method for feedback (text, audio, video). This supports accessibility, equity and inclusion. Something as simple as an assignment based selection with a user default setting so they do not have to select it every time but they can change based on an assignment.

Thanks for sharing this idea. Just so our members have a clear understanding, is this a request that will allow the student to select a preferred feedback method that the instructor is then meant to use for that particular student—perhaps a preference that would display to the instructor in SpeedGrader?

Yes that is the idea. This allows us to individualize how we deal with accessibility and learning styles. I think there is more to it than just this but to start with if a student can indicate their preferred feedback method that would go a long way.

I like the idea that a student can set a default feedback method, default for a course (to select a method suitable to the instructor or material) and override that with a method for the assignment if desired. Essentially a hierarchy that prefills the selection to the next level when the student is enrolled in the course / assignment. (assignment default is the course default, course default is the student default).
