Allow students & observers to electronically sign/indicate that they have read syllabus & agree to the terms.
Thanks for sharing this idea. To be clear, observers do not have course participation rights in Canvas, so we'll focus on the student experience.
Does your school provide its instructors access to Adobe Acrobat Pro? That's a commonly-used application for obtaining e-signatures. The instructor could add a document to the modules that students would need to sign before proceeding to the next item.
When I was teaching in Canvas, I used module prerequisites and requirements, accompanied by a syllabus quiz, and students could not proceed in the course until they passed the syllabus quiz.
