Synergy GPB for Assignments given to a single student or a single Section

Many of our Teachers like to create assignments and assign them to either a single student or a single manually created section of students (ex. an extra credit assignment, an assignment for just a few of the students in a class but not for the whole class, etc.). When creating an assignment for just a single student and forcing a sync between Canvas and Synergy the assignment itself is greyed out from being able to be selected for the sync. When creating an assignment for a single section of students and forcing a sync between Canvas and Synergy even when the assignment is checked the following error message displays: "Cannot find due date for assignment [assignment name], skipping".

Instructure Support and the SIS Integration Team both referenced this Canvas guide when we reached out for support: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Synergy-and-Canvas/How-do-I-set-up-an-assignment-to-be-sent-to-Sy..., which states “Synergy GPB requires a due date for the Assign to Everyone option." While the assignments created do in fact have a due date they aren't syncing properly with Synergy via GPB because they are not assigned to "Everyone."

Synergy Support has indicated that they are able to receive assignments which aren't assigned to Everyone via GPB, so it would be a helpful feature to include the ability to use GPB from Canvas to Synergy for assignments that are assigned to either a single student or a single manually created section of students.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
