Canvas currently has the option to automatically assign students to groups, where those students need to come from the same section. Once the groups are made however, the sections sometimes get updated.
It would be helpful, especially for courses with large student numbers, to have an option to automatically "unenroll" students from a group that no longer matches their updated section.
