Uploaded files shouldn't be published by default

I can't believe I have to say this, but if I upload PDFs with my exam questions to Canvas, I shouldn't have to unpublish them right after I finish uploading. Files should be private by default, with the option to publish after. We've advanced past ftp severs.

Absolutely; anything uploaded directly as an attachment to an assessment should not be visible except in the context of the assessment.

@KHIII - I completely agree. I want to upload material and then decide when it it to be published.  Along those lines, when you publish a module, I would like an option window to pop up asking if I want to publish all unpublished items in the module or leave them unpublished.  I guess I should write up that idea if it is not already out there.

New to Canvas, first semester with live students and TAs in courses.

Thought I was preparing future work for students... now I'm not sure who sees what and when...
