With Google LTI assignments in Canvas, only make copy of Doc in Drive for selected sections

When using Google LTI, if one assigns a Google Doc to only one specific section(s), Google will still make a copy of that doc for every student in the class in their Google Drive. I would like to use this feature for special education purposes, and thus cannot have the Doc available to all students. It would save a lot of time and frustration if Google were integrated in a way that only the students who were assigned the Doc in Canvas got a copy in their Google Drive.

Google performs all development on the the Google Assignments LTI, so requests for enhancements must be sent directly to Google; Instructure Canvas doesn't have a role in creating new functionality for the tool.
