new quizzes

On old quizzes, when a student was absent and was not able to take a quiz on Canvas, the teacher could go to the moderate page and manually unlock the quiz for one student without having to change the until date and time.  In new quizzes, the teacher must change the lock date to a time when all students have been able to attempt it.  The problem is this leaves it open for students to take it at home and not in the classroom under supervision.  Can this feature be added so quizzes can be manually unlocked for individuals without having the change the until date on the quiz home page?

Thanks for sharing this idea, @EricaStern . As it moves forward for broader discussion, have you tried unlocking the quiz for just the one student by using the Differentiated Assignments functionality (  How do I assign an assignment to an individual stu...  ) ? With this method, the other students will not have the quiz available to them.

I'm feeling a bit mixed on this one. As @Stef_retired mentions you can use the differentiated assignments options to make adjustments for single student but it is much more convenient to have option on the moderate page like we did with classic quizzes. I know my faculty will miss having this  option on the moderate page but is also confusing to have this option in both places. I would love to see the option on the moderate page if it is clearly marked what it will do.
