retain place in SpeedGrader during multitasking in Teacher app

Currently, when one is annotating a pdf in a Document Preview in SpeedGrader and one navigates to another app and then back to the Teacher app, the user's place is lost. It is entirely reasonable to expect that when one switches to another *app* from Teacher (without doing anything in Teacher) and then back to Teacher, one can pick up from where one left off in Teacher. Moreover, it is very disrupt to the grading process, particularly with multipage documents, to lose one's place like this.

This is currently considered normal behavior by the Instructure team because the data loaded when viewing submissions in the app is not static (and apparently not cached).

I am hereby requesting -- and hoping for support from others -- that the current behavior be changed, and that one's place in a Document Preview in Speed Grader in the Teacher app be retained.

As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.
