  Hello, Why can't I upload excel, or word docs to my files for assignment submissions? This would make it easier to post certain assignment, I can only upload pictures. This is an inconvenience, I mean what's wrong with excel, and word docs being uploaded?

Students can upload the file types that have been allowed by their instructors for a particular assignment. Canvas assignments support uploads of Excel and Word documents, among other file types, but only if the instructor allows it; in this case, it is possible that the instructor has specifically limited all uploads except those of the .png and .jpg file type in order to ensure that students submit images.
