Lea is the Training Coordinator and Student-Worker Supervisor for the Canvas Team at The University of Texas at Austin. She is a native Ohioan, but has lived and/or worked in Indiana, South Dakota, Maryland, Washington D.C., Colorado, and Texas through AmeriCorps and educational pursuits. Lea has a B.A. in Women's Studies from the University of Maryland (Fear the Turtle!), and an M.A. in Gender Studies and an M.S. in Information Studies from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook 'em!). After working as a Learning and Outreach, First-Year Experience, and Women's and Gender Studies Librarian at Texas A&M for three years, she returned to Austin and fell in with the Canvas crowd. Lea loves: helping people become more comfortable with technology, pedagogy (especially feminist pedagogy), assessment, iterative design, audiobooks, college football (O-H!, \m/), her dog, and having access to the OED online.
