Use of YouTube videos with Standard Licenses not Creative Common Licenses

We are a non-profit org, not an educational institution, trying to determine whether we need to get additional permission from the original content creator when we share a YouTube link/embed a video that is not explicitly listed as holding a Creative Commons License. Does anyone have experience or guidance for this situation?

If you are simply embedding a link to the original source there is no permission required. The problem would arise if you were to retrieve and store media.
