As with several universities all over the world, we had to shift to suddenly shift to online distance learning because of the social distancing limitations brought about by the pandemic. Because of access issues, in our university, faculty were encouraged to design for more asynchronous learning experiences. This was an invitation to put on our instructional design hats in designing effective, efficient and appealing learning experiences despite the "absence" of a teacher. Here, I feature 3 design principles that were applied to contribute to this: Easy navigation, High Structure and Active Learning.
