How to use sessions?

Hello guys, I'm starting to use Canvas. And I intend to use a class as a model to be replicated when new classes are formed. I would like to know how I use the "Session" option.

Good afternoon, @rony_carvalheir ...

I think you actually mean "Sections" and not "Sessions".  There are a number of Guides that specifically address the topic of "Sections", and you can find them by visiting the "Courses and Sections" part of this webpage here in the Community.  I hope this will help a bit.  Sing out if you have any other questions about this...thanks!

Understand. I'll check the list. Grateful.

If I understand correctly, the 'Sections' are for me to use the SAME CLASS with different schedules, is that right? If the answer was YES, then I don't need to keep duplicating the class every time a new class starts, right?

Hi @rony_carvalheir ...

The blue box at the top of this Guide, How do I add a section to a course as an instructo... - Canvas Community, has a good summary of when you might want to use "Sections" in a course.  If you are teaching the same course from semester to semester, many schools set up their Canvas environments so that instructors have new course shells for the same course each semester...with the new students in the new courses.  Otherwise, if you continue to use the same course and many sections, your course roster will eventually fill up with many students in one single course...and that's probably not ideal.  I would recommend that you reach out to your school's local Canvas administrator or someone from your school's Online Learning/eLearning department to see exactly how they set up courses at your school and what their recommendation(s) would be for your course.  I hope this will help a bit.

Thank you very much. You helped me. I'll study the possibility and see if it's better to create sections every semester or create new classes every semester.
