calander feed update frequency

How often is the calendar feed updated? I want a non-Canvas-using clerk to be able to see my appointments on their Outlook Calendar which can change hourly. How is the frequency of updates controlled? At least I'd like to know how often it is updated.  I believe it depends on Canvas and not on Outlook.

Thank you for reaching out! 

First, the syncing process is actually dictated in the external Calendar service. The Canvas calendar is immediately updated, but any other calendar that is subscribed may take longer. Outlook periodically updates but may take up to 24 hours to sync with the Canvas Calendar. Thus, Canvas updates may not be immediately visible in Outlook. Unfortunatley, there isn't a fixed time in which this updates, but most of the time it will update promptly after changes are made in Canvas.
