Pasting a Link with update 2021?

In the last version of Canvas, you could just highlight the words you wanted to link and then paste the link directly to them. Now you have click the link button and paste the link in there. It is not a huge deal, but does take a little more time. Is there a way to go back to how it was before, maybe a setting I can change?
