Supported by research about assessment best practices and chock full of useful tips and how-to information, this presentation highlights ways instructors of any discipline can use New Quizzes features with other Canvas tools in innovative ways to create more authentic, engaging, higher-cognitive-level assessments that promote learning—while still saving time grading large numbers of students. Highlights include Stimulus, the extremely versatile Fill-in-the-Blank question type (word bank, drop down), Rubrics, Outcomes Analysis reports, and individualized Feedback. While examples may be specific to undergraduate Nursing, the possibilities New Quizzes and Canvas tools afford and the principles of good assessment apply to all disciplines and levels of education.
