Homeroom teachers conflicts with his/her other subjects in Canvas for Elementary

Good day.

I don't know if you have experienced this that when a homeroom teacher for Grade 8 is also a teacher in Grades 5 & 6 and then all his students from grade 8 were automatically enrolled to his grades 5 & 6 science subjects... It's so hard to look for a solution to this I've asked for support but I don't get that the subjects must be created in the homeroom (we don't allow teachers to create the subjects, only admin). I hope someone can help me with this.

Hello @rlcarballo! I am hoping that you have found an  answer to this by now, but happened to come across this so I thought I would share my 2 cents.

While I am not a Canvas Admin, I have worked closely with our Canvas Admin so I can share where the issue may lie based on the scenario in my district.  Our process for creating courses and adding students to our courses relies on our Student Information System (SIS).  However students are scheduled in our SIS is how the students are assigned to and added to Canvas courses.  I am wondering if somehow your students may somehow be assigned to those courses in your SIS system which is causing them to populate in multiple courses.  Rereading your post and seeing the tag, it appears you are working with Canvas for Elementary.  My experience is limited with that, but when we have tested that, I do not ever recall having an issue with students showing up in class they were not intended to be in.  I am assuming this may have already been done, but I would still check the SIS to make sure all students data has been entered correctly.

Hopefully this has already been resolved or will be soon if you are still experiencing this issue.  If you have solved this already, I would love to know what your solution was.
