Mobile Apps - Student and Parent not showing grades correctly?

Is anyone else experiencing these issues?  

We have filed tickets and spoken with our CSM, but not yet resolved.  

Since the student and parent app releases in late January, there have been some major problems showing grades with the apps.

  • Student App - iOS - We are seeing 'ungraded' on the course card on the dashboard.   If a student clicks into the course, then clicks grades, they can see a grade, but it is incorrect because it is showing "All grading Periods" rather than the current grading period.  
  • Student App - Android - Students see a grade on the course card on the dashboard, however the grade is incorrect because it is showing "All grading Periods" rather than the current grading period.  
  • Parent App iOS - Courses show 'ungraded'.  Unlike the student app, there is no way to get further detail or change grading periods.  
  • Parent App Android - Course cards show a grade, but the grade is incorrect because it is showing "All grading Periods" rather than the current grading period.  Again, unlike the student app, there is no way to get further detail or change grading periods in the parent app.

I've looked into your support tickets and can see that both our iOS and Android teams are working on fixes to address the issues with grading periods that you have noticed in the Canvas apps. Since you have filed these tickets, you should receive updates on their progress in the coming weeks.

Hi Cody.  Thank you for the update.  In your last sentence, you mentioned progress updates in the coming weeks.   We need to be talking about hours and days.  Students and parents are currently seeing inaccurate grades on their mobile devices. That is a rather urgent situation.

Thank you Canvas for putting the fix in place for this issue on 2/26/18.  It is critical that we address major functionality issues ASAP, especially involving grades and you guys did that.   Thank you to our fabulous CSM hbradford for always advocating for us and getting things done.  The culprit in this case was a deleted grading period which was causing the API to look for an incorrect grading period impacting the Canvas Student and Canvas Parent mobile apps in iOS and Android versions.
