This behavior is corrected in the 2021-08-04 deploy.

When an assignment has been copied from an assignment that was setup to use anonymous grading, the assessment audit feature in SpeedGrader shows, “ANONYMOUS OFF. Anonymous was never turned on,” for the copied assignment after grades have been posted. Additionally, the assessment audit feature does not show the date the assignment was posted.

Expected Behavior

Instead, it should show ANONYMOUS ON and have the date it was posted

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

  • Prerequisite: A course with the post policy set to either automatic or manual. The anonymous grading feature enabled. At least one student in the course.

  1. Create an assignment and enable anonymous grading

  2. Duplicate the assignment

  3. Publish the duplicated assignment

  4. Verify that anonymous grading is enabled for the duplicated assignment

  5. Give the student a grade for the duplicated assignment and post the grades

  6. In SpeedGrader, select assessment audit

  7. Notice you will see, "ANONYMOUS OFF. Anonymous was never turned on."
